CPR & AED Training
DescriptionsÂ
The CPR & AED Class will provide students with an understanding of adult and child CPR and prepare them on how to use an AED in a safe, timely and effective manner.Â
On this first aid course students will cover a range of topics relating to cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Training will be conducted in a video-based, instructor-led format and focuses heavily on practical skills and student participation. Instructors will observe students during practical sessions, providing feedback and guidance where necessary.Â
Anyone wishing to take this CPR & AED course will need to be physically fit enough to carry out chest compressions on the mannequin whilst kneeling. To successfully pass the course students must demonstrate effective compressions and ventilations and have a good understanding of the English language that allows them to interact with the instructor.
Course Objectives
On successful completion of the CPR & AED Class, students will be able to:
- Understand CPR principlesÂ
- Perform a 2 minute cycle of CPRÂ
- How to safely and effectively use a defibrillatorÂ
- Assist someone who is chokingÂ
Course Agenda
The CPR & AED Class will cover the following topics:
- Understand the role of CPR and demonstrate how to use itÂ
- Recognize the signals of a breathing emergencyÂ
- How to deal with someone chokingÂ
- Understand and demonstrate how a defibrillator worksÂ
Assessment
During this classroom-based training students will be continually assessed by the instructor. At the end of the course students will be provided with a CPR & AED scenario to which they must respond. Â
On successful completion trainees will be issued with a CPR AED Certificate which is valid for 2 years.Â
Who Should Attend
This first aid course is aimed at anyone who requires a course completion card in CPR & AED with either limited or no previous medical training.
