The Forklift Operator Training Course is designed to provide workers with the knowledge, information and practical skills necessary to operate Powered Industrial Trucks safely and professionally while also satisfying OSHA’s training requirements for Powered Industrial Truck operators.
Course Objectives
At the end of this Heavy Equipment training course, successful students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the classroom material and proficiency in operation of the designated machine type.
Course Agenda
The Forklift Operator Training Course will cover the following topics:
- Safe operation
- Load handling
- Refueling and recharging
- Machine Inspection
- Workplace hazard recognition and avoidance
- OSHA regulations and applicable safety standards
Assessment
Course assessment will be a combination of classroom lessons, discussions and interactive learning as well as practical sessions using a forklift.

Anyone who may be required to operate a forklift or supervise workers that operate these machines.
