About this course

This Spanish online instructor-led MSHA Part 48 Annual Refresher Training Course will be delivered remotely, using instructor-led online learning.  This course content remains the same as classroom-based training, however, you’ll attend a scheduled, interactive class via video conferencing.

All course material and instruction will be provided in Spanish.

This Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Part 48 Annual Refresher course is designed to meet all regulatory requirements. The MSHA Part 48 regulations require workers to complete a minimum of 8-Hours of Part 48 Surface Miner refresher training every year.

* Please Note – this course WILL NOT fulfil the training requirements of the Part 46 course. *

At the end of this Spanish online instructor-led health and safety training course, successful students will demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the hazards associated with working at a mine site and be able to minimize the risks.

The virtual MSHA Part 48 (B) Annual Refresher course in Spanish will cover the following topics:

  • Mandatory Health and Safety Standards
  • Transportation Controls and Communication Systems
  • Escape and Emergency Evacuation Procedures
  • Ground Control; Working in Areas of Highwalls, Water Hazards, Pits and Spoil Banks; Illumination and Night Work
  • First Aid Methods
  • Electrical Risks
  • Accident Prevention
  • Dust and Noise Health
  • Explosives
  • Self-Rescue and Respiratory Devices

Attendees will be required to be proficient in Spanish, attend full learning hours and achieve a passing score on all tests and assessments.  All course material, instruction and testing will be provided in Spanish. On successful completion of this Miner Training, students will receive a 5000-23 MSHA certificate which is valid for 12 months.

Part 48 Refresher training will be required on an annual basis.

Only those delegates who are proficient in Spanish, have passed the MSHA P48 New Miner training course, or a previous MSHA P48 Annual Refresher course in the last 12 months, are eligible to attend this 8-hour annual refresher training.

How will I receive instructions for my virtual instructor led course?
For virtual instructor led courses, the students will receive an email directly from the instructor advising them how to log in to the course and what materials to bring if any. We ask that any students who do not receive these instructions contact us during business hours at least one business day prior to the course start date. When will I/my employee receive joining instructions?
Joining instructions can be provided anytime immediately following the course booking up until the night before your class. In many cases, this is dependent on the instructor’s schedule and are typically sent around their existing class schedules. We ask that any students who do not receive their joining instructions contact us during business hours at least one business day prior to the course start date. What happens if I/my employee fails the course?
You and/or your student may contact us directly to discuss your options and ways for you to gain the qualification you want.
