On successful completion of this safety course, students will be re-issued with an OSHA certificate.
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response
HAZWOPER training is required by employees responsible for the handling, storage, treatment and/or disposal of hazardous waste. Additionally, workers in emergency response operations involving hazardous waste must also complete the training.
The main difference between the two is the government agency that oversees the regulatory requirements for each. HAZWOPER is covered under the OSHA standards and applies to the workplace, while HAZMAT is covered by the Federal Department of Transportation and addresses the transportation of hazardous materials.
