The NCCCO Signalperson Practical Exam consists of 20 scenarios requiring students to demonstrate knowledge of giving proper hand signals and voice commands.
Students are required to complete the Signalperson Practical Examination within a 60-minute time limit. Should a candidate not complete the exam in 60 minutes, credits will be issued for the tasks completed.
Prior to starting the exam candidates will need to provide the examiner with a valid, in-date, copy of their government-issued photo I.D. This MUST include date of birth.
Candidates may take their Exams in either order. Students have 12 months after passing their first exam (Written or Practical) in which to pass the corresponding Written or Practical Exam.
Certificates are valid for a 5-year period; however, this may vary if additional NCCCO qualifications are added to a student's card. If a certified Signalperson Subsequently becomes certified as a Rigger Level 1 or Rigger Level 11, the certification period for the additional designation will expire at the same times as the original certification.
