June 1 kicks off the National Safety Council’s (NSC) annual National Safety Month 2022, in which individuals and organizations are asked to make efforts toward reducing unintentional injury and death at work and at home.
Despite safety and health training evolving and becoming more widely available, the construction industry continues to struggle with injuries and fatalities. In 2020, more than 1 in 5 workplace deaths occurred in the construction industry. Additionally, over one-third of the deaths were due to trips, slips and falls.
National Safety Month aims to combat this through its commitment to safety and training – and it makes for a perfect time to book a course.
The weekly themes include:
- June 1 – 11: Musculoskeletal
- June 12 – 18: Workplace Impairment
- June 19-25: Injury Prevention
- June 26-30: Slips, Trips and Falls
Numerous online safety training classes are available for a range of industries and occupations. Whether you’re looking for online crane operator training, first aid training courses, online HAZWOPER training or online PEC H2S training, today’s training providers offer more flexibility than ever before to ensure you get the right training at the right time.
While safety training is just one piece of the larger picture to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, it remains vital: education and training increase knowledge and help guide actions and behaviors while working. So, what are you waiting for? Book a course today so you can go home safe tomorrow.
