NYC SST 10 Hour Worker Site Safety Training E-learning Course (DOB Approved)

Objectives

The online 8 Hour Fall Protection course will ensure delegates can:

• Identify fall hazards and proper safety equipment
• Interpret OSHA and NYC DOB regulations
• Understand employer requirements to protect workers from fall hazards

The online 2 Hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness course will ensure delegates can:

• Recognize adverse effects of drug and alcohol in the workplace
• Determine problems associated with substance abuse
• Avoid working while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
• Recognize, avoid, and prevent (RAP) adverse consequences of drug and/or alcohol use and abuse.
• Identify and understand issues of chemical dependence

Agenda

The online 8 Hour Fall Protection element will cover the following topics:

• Scaffold, Stair and Ladder Safety
• Common terms related to fall hazards and controls within the NYC Construction Industry
• Identify and avoid fall hazards to prevent fall-related injuries
• OSHA and DOB regulations

The online 2 Hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness element will cover the following topics:

• Effects of drug and alcohol in the workplace
• Problems associated with substance dependency
• Recognizing, avoiding, and preventing (RAP) adverse consequences of drug and/or alcohol use and abuse
• Identify and understand issues of chemical dependence

Assessment

Delegates will be required to attend full online learning hours and complete exams for each chapter. A pass rate of at least 70% is required on each written assessment.  Registrants will have up to 3 attempts to complete and pass the final course assessment. Upon successful completion of this course and course exams, students will receive a certificate of completion of 8 hours toward the Site Safety Requirement.

Who should attend

Anyone wishing to achieve the Site Safety Training Card (SST Card).

Prerequisites

Students are required to complete the OSHA 30-Hour training to achieve the SST Full Worker Card.

Anyone wishing to complete this course must have high speed internet access and a web camera.

Prior to starting the course, during the enrollment process, registrants will need to take a photo to verify their identity and upload a government issued photo ID. Facial biometric verification is used throughout the course so please make sure that your photo is clear with a simple background. No hats or headphones should be worn, and students will need to avoid sitting in front of a light source as it will interfere with the facial biometrics verification. This photo will be used for your SST Card.
